The tool also classifies your business under the MSME Act 2020 (Micro, Small or Medium) based on your turnover and plant/machinery investment, and generates a personalised document checklist for your loan application.

Frequently Asked Questions

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

MSME stands for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Under the MSME Act 2020, a Micro enterprise has annual turnover up to ₹5 Crore and investment in plant & machinery up to ₹1 Crore. Small enterprise has turnover up to ₹25 Crore and investment up to ₹10 Crore. Medium enterprise has turnover up to ₹125 Crore and investment up to ₹50 Crore.
PM Mudra Yojana provides collateral-free loans to micro enterprises through banks, NBFCs and MFIs. Three tiers: Shishu (up to ₹50,000 for new businesses), Kishore (₹50,000 to ₹5 Lakh for growing businesses) and Tarun (₹5 Lakh to ₹10 Lakh for established micro enterprises). No collateral required for any tier.
Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises provides a government guarantee on collateral-free loans up to ₹2 Crore from scheduled commercial banks. Businesses need Udyam registration to apply. The government acts as guarantor — you do not need to pledge property or assets.
Not mandatory for all schemes but strongly recommended. Udyam registration is free and takes 10 minutes at udyamregistration.gov.in. It unlocks CGTMSE guarantee schemes, priority sector lending benefits, government subsidy schemes and protection under the MSME Act for delayed payments.
Most banks require a minimum CIBIL score of 700 for business loans. Scores above 750 get better interest rates and higher loan amounts. Mudra loans through microfinance institutions may accept lower scores. If your score is below 700, work on clearing existing dues before applying.
Yes. PM Mudra Yojana Shishu, PMEGP (PM Employment Generation Programme) and Stand Up India accept applications from new businesses with zero years of operation. PMEGP provides a 15-35% government subsidy for new manufacturing or service units — one of the best schemes for startups.
A government digital platform where MSMEs with active GST returns and bank accounts get in-principle loan approval within 59 minutes. Loans from ₹1 Lakh to ₹5 Crore from participating public sector banks. Visit psbloansin59minutes.com. GST registration and 6 months of GST filing history required.
Common documents: PAN card, Aadhaar, GST registration and returns, bank statements (6-12 months), IT returns (2-3 years), balance sheet, Udyam registration certificate, business address proof, partnership deed or MOA/AOA for companies. Exact requirements vary by scheme and bank.
MSME loan interest rates range from 7.5% to 14% per annum depending on the scheme, bank and your credit profile. Mudra loans: 10-12%. CGTMSE-backed loans: 9-11%. PSB 59 Minutes: 8.5-11%. SIDBI direct lending: 8-10%. Government-guaranteed schemes typically offer lower rates than regular business loans.
PSB Loans in 59 Minutes gives in-principle approval in under an hour — full disbursement takes 7-15 working days. Mudra loans through banks: 3-7 working days after document submission. CGTMSE-backed loans: 2-4 weeks. SIDBI direct lending: 4-6 weeks including site visit and appraisal.

DETAILED GUIDE

Understanding MSME Loan Eligibility in India

The Indian government offers multiple credit guarantee and subsidy-linked loan schemes specifically for MSMEs. However, each scheme has different eligibility criteria based on your business size, sector, registration status and years of operation.

Mudra Loans: Best for micro businesses needing working capital up to ₹10 Lakh. No collateral required. Apply at any public or private sector bank or NBFC.

CGTMSE: Best for small businesses needing loans up to ₹2 Crore without pledging property as collateral. The government acts as guarantor. Requires Udyam registration.

PSB 59 Minutes: Best for businesses with active GST filing history needing quick working capital or term loans up to ₹5 Crore. Fully digital process.

SIDBI: Best for manufacturing and export MSMEs needing larger funds for expansion or technology upgradation.

Key tip: Always approach your existing bank first — they already have your account history which speeds up approval.
