EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Enter the brand name or trademark in the search bar above. Our system searches the IP India trademark database and shows all matching trademarks with their application number, class, status, owner, and filing date.
Trademarks in India are registered under specific classes as per the Nice Classification system, which has 45 classes (1–34 for goods, 35–45 for services). You must register your trademark under the relevant class(es) for your business.
"Registered" means the trademark is fully approved and the owner has exclusive rights to use it. "Objected" means the Trademark Registry has raised objections and the applicant must respond. "Opposed" means a third party has challenged the application.
Typically 18–24 months if no objections are raised. If objections or oppositions are filed, it can take 3–5 years. However, you can use the ™ symbol from the date of application, and the ® symbol only after registration.
Yes — if they are in different classes. For example, "Apollo" can be registered for hospitals (Class 44) and also for tyres (Class 12) by different owners, as long as there is no confusion or passing-off risk.
A registered trademark is valid for 10 years from the filing date. It can be renewed indefinitely for successive 10-year periods by paying the renewal fee before expiry.
Yes. Our trademark search is free and covers data from the official IP India (Intellectual Property India) public database. For official searches and filing, visit ipindiaonline.gov.in.
™ (trademark) can be used by anyone to indicate they are claiming rights to a mark, even before official registration. ® (registered trademark) can only be used after the trademark is officially registered with the Trademark Registry.
Search the exact name above and also try similar-sounding names and spellings. If no results appear for your class, the name may be available — but always consult a trademark attorney for a proper clearance search before filing.
Government fees are ₹4,500 per class for individuals, startups, and small enterprises, and ₹9,000 per class for companies and LLPs. Attorney fees are additional. Multi-class applications require separate fees per class.
